The name — keur dada meaning roughly 'grandmother's house' in Wolof — signals the domestic scale and atmosphere the property intends. The kitchen is not a restaurant in a conventional sense but the owners are accommodating with dietary needs given advance notice.

Médina's transport links reach the rest of Dakar by shared minibuses and taxis, and the covered Sandaga market at the Plateau boundary is ten minutes on foot.
