This Corniche loop runs along the North Corniche waterfront from the Shangri-La Jeddah hotel to Al Rahma Mosque, often called the Floating Mosque, and back. The route is listed on the Komoot trail platform as roughly 6 km and rated easy. The Shangri-La Jeddah stands on Corniche Road in Ash Shati, and the mosque sits on the water further north on the North Corniche Road. The two points are about 3 km apart in a straight line, so walking one way is about 3 km and the full out-and-back loop is about 6 km, taking around 1.5 to 2 hours with stops. The path is flat and follows the sea edge, passing the waterfront promenade, seafront cafes and the marina frontage, with Red Sea views throughout. No permit is required. Access to the start is by car, taxi, Uber or Careem; visitors who prefer a one-way walk can take a ride-hailing car back from the mosque. Shade is scarce and summer heat is intense, so the walk is best done at sunrise or from late afternoon until after sunset. Water and snacks are available at waterfront cafes, but walkers carry their own water between them. Al Rahma Mosque is an active place of worship. Non-Muslim visitors are generally limited to viewing it from outside, so visitors dress modestly and respect prayer times, when the surrounding area can be quiet or restricted. Mobile signal is reliable along the entire route. Note that the city of Mecca, about 80 km east of Jeddah, is closed to non-Muslims; the Corniche walk is entirely within Jeddah.
