A 170 m flagpole carrying a giant Saudi flag, a landmark of central Jeddah.
The Jeddah Flagpole is a 170 metre mast carrying a giant Saudi national flag, set on waterfront-side grounds in central Jeddah. When raised in 2014 it was the world's tallest freestanding flagpole, and it remains a landmark visible from many parts of the city. The base area is a small park used for photographs, and the flag itself is large enough to be seen from the Corniche. A stop takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and it pairs with a visit to King Fahd's Fountain a few kilometres away. Check access before going, as entry to the grounds may be limited.
