- Soft sand in dune areas can cause ankle injuries - wear sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots
- No shade in most desert areas - plan hikes for early morning or late afternoon only
- Stray dogs near Al Wakrah and village areas - stay calm and walk away if approached
- Limited or no mobile coverage in remote western Qatar - carry a satellite communicator for long hikes

🌸 Spring
February to April is excellent for hiking - wildflowers bloom briefly in the desert, temperatures are pleasant (18-28°C), and migratory birds are present
☀️ Summer
June to September is extremely hot (40-48°C) - only early morning hikes before 7 AM are feasible. Coastal and shaded trails are preferred. High risk of heat exhaustion.
🍂 Fall
October and November bring cooling temperatures (25-35°C) making desert trails comfortable again. Good visibility and calm winds.
❄️ Winter
December to January offers the most pleasant hiking weather (15-22°C). All trails are accessible. Popular season for desert camping and outdoor activities.
