Termas de Monção

Termas de Monção is a thermal spa in the walled border town of Monção, in the Minho at the northern edge of Portugal, where the Minho river marks the frontier with Spanish Galicia. The bathhouse stands on Largo das Termas within the historic centre, a short walk from the town's fortifications and the riverside promenade looking across to Salvaterra do Miño. Sessions are booked by appointment, and the spa keeps long weekday and Saturday hours, opening from early morning through the evening, which suits visitors combining a treatment with a day in the town. Pricing is modest, with single treatments generally in the €10–€25 band and course packages sold by the week. Monção is at the heart of Alvarinho country, and the spa pairs naturally with visits to the Vinho Verde quintas around the town, the Palácio da Brejoeira estate just to the south, and the Minho riverside cycle path.
