The menu centres on espetada, chunks of beef marinated and grilled on long skewers of bay laurel wood over an open fire and typically served hanging from a tabletop hook, paired with bolo do caco flatbread and regional side dishes; a glass of house wine is poured throughout the meal. Live fado and Portuguese folk music accompanies dinner, giving the evening a performance element alongside the food. The experience runs most evenings except Sunday and includes round-trip hotel transfer from central Funchal, making it a straightforward option for visitors without a rental car. Seating is at shared long tables in a large hall, so groups run from a handful of couples up to coach-sized parties depending on the night; the pace is unhurried, built around courses arriving between musical sets. Vegetarian or dietary substitutions are not standard on the fixed menu, so travellers with restrictions should confirm in advance when booking rather than expecting on-the-spot alternatives.
