Porto das Barcas is a modern restaurant in Vila Nova de Milfontes combining fresh seafood, Alentejo meats and lighter contemporary dishes such as ceviches and sardine toasts, distinguishing it from the town's more traditional seafood tascas. Signature dishes include ceviche de robalo (sea bass ceviche), tosta de sardinha and bife de porco preto, reflecting a lighter, more contemporary approach to coastal Alentejo cooking. The terrace is the restaurant's defining feature, catching the sunset over the Mira estuary and drawing a more design-conscious, cosmopolitan crowd than nearby traditional restaurants; the atmosphere shifts from relaxed daytime dining to a livelier evening scene as sunset approaches.
