Paracas National Reserve & Ballestas Islands

The Ballestas Islands (nicknamed the 'Poor Man's Galapagos') are home to massive colonies of Humboldt penguins, sea lions, Inca terns, and thousands of seabirds. A boat tour around the islands is one of Peru's wildlife highlights. The Paracas National Reserve features surreal desert landscapes, flamingo lagoons, and stunning Pacific coast scenery. The mysterious Paracas candelabra geoglyph (like a mini-Nazca line) is visible from the water.
