Burns Road in Saddar, Karachi, is one of the city's oldest and most concentrated street-food strips, and this route is self-guided rather than led by a tour operator or booking company. Visitors follow the strip on foot over roughly 2-3 hours, moving between three stops along a few hundred metres of the road. The walk opens at Waheed Kabab House, a long-running nihari and seekh kabab spot regarded as one of Burns Road's anchor kitchens, where slow-cooked beef nihari is served with naan and a side of fried garnish. From there the route continues to neighboring stalls for chapli kabab and other barbecue items grilled to order over open coals, giving the walk a heavily savoury character typical of Karachi's Saddar food scene. It closes on a sweeter note at shops along the strip selling bakery items and mithai, balancing the meat-forward first half. Nothing beyond the food itself is included -- there is no transit, guide fee, or bundled drink; visitors pay per item as they go, with a typical budget of PKR 500-1,500 (roughly USD 2-5) covering all three stops for one person. The pace is entirely self-determined: there is no fixed group size, start time, or language requirement, and the walk suits both solo visitors and pairs comfortable navigating a busy, informal street market on foot. Burns Road is at its most walkable, and least crowded, outside the hottest midday hours between November and February, though the stalls run year-round.
