Liberty Market

Liberty Market is an upmarket circular bazaar in Gulberg III, one of Lahore's most established commercial districts. Built around a central roundabout, the market's inner ring holds traditional stalls selling embroidered fabrics, Punjabi juttis, bangles, and costume jewellery, while the outer ring and surrounding streets host a denser concentration of designer boutiques, tailoring shops, and beauty salons than most other Lahore markets. Goods range from mass-market bangles and trinkets in the circular stalls to genuinely high-end, designer-label clothing in the boutiques ringing the market, giving shoppers a wider spread between authentic craft and tourist-oriented novelty than a purely wholesale bazaar. Bargaining is expected and often productive at the open stalls in the circle, whereas the boutiques generally hold to fixed, marked prices; cash is standard throughout, and while some boutiques accept cards, most stall vendors do not. There is no tax-refund facility for overseas visitors. The atmosphere is more polished than Lahore's older wholesale markets, with wider walkways, better lighting in the evening, and a steady flow of middle- and upper-income local shoppers rather than a purely working-class clientele. Food options are limited within the market itself, but Gulberg's surrounding streets have numerous cafes and restaurants within a short walk. The central circular stalls selling bangles and juttis are the signature corner, alongside the boutique lane on the market's western edge, which concentrates the higher-end designer stores. Evenings, particularly after 6PM, draw the largest crowds as temperatures cool and shoppers finish work.
