Trimmu Barrage

Trimmu Barrage sits on the Chenab River roughly 4 km below its confluence with the Jhelum River, about 25 km southwest of Jhang city in Punjab. The riverbank is undeveloped, made up of packed earth, sand bars, and scrubby vegetation rather than a maintained beach, and the combined flow of the two rivers gives the water a heavier, more silt-laden brown colour than either river carries alone. There is no defined swimming shore or cove shape here; the site is essentially open agricultural and flood-plain land around a flood-control and irrigation structure, and river flow can vary sharply with upstream releases, making the water unpredictable rather than calm. This is a working infrastructure site rather than a tourist beach, so the visitor profile is small and local: anglers, occasional day-trippers from Jhang interested in the river confluence, and those passing through on the Jhang-Bhakkar road. There is no swimming, no lifeguard presence, and no organised nightlife or party atmosphere. Facilities are minimal: informal fishing spots along the bank, boating that depends entirely on local arrangement and river conditions, and views of the confluence itself, but there are no food stalls, no maintained restrooms, and no visitor centre. Parking is informal along the roadside near the barrage rather than in a dedicated lot. Access is by private car from Jhang city via the Jhang-Bhakkar road; there is no public transport serving the barrage directly, and the lack of amenities means visitors should treat a stop here as a brief scenic detour rather than a full day out.
