Campement Touristique W sits at the edge of W du Niger National Park in the Tapoa Region, close to the park's northern entrance and roughly 150 kilometres east of Niamey. The park forms part of the transboundary W-Arly-Pendjari Complex, one of West Africa's most significant protected ecosystems, shared between Niger, Burkina Faso, and Benin and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The campement takes its name from the distinctive W-shaped bend in the Niger River that gives the park its designation.
The accommodation style is aligned with its setting: thatched-roof bungalows built on raised concrete platforms, furnished with basic beds, fans, and mosquito nets. Construction is intentionally simple, using local materials appropriate to a protected zone. The surrounding landscape — savannah woodland transitioning to riverine gallery forest near the Niger's tributaries — provides the actual appeal, and the campement is positioned to make use of early-morning wildlife activity in the adjacent park areas.
