  • Some Waitakere Ranges tracks are closed due to kauri dieback; check Department of Conservation website before visiting
  • Rangitoto and other volcanic islands have no freshwater; carry at least 2L per person
  • Cell coverage is limited in the Waitakere Ranges and outer islands
