Auckland Safety Guide 2025

Stay safe during your Auckland trip with essential safety information.

Safety Overview

Overall Safety Level: LOW

Auckland is one of the world's safest major cities and is generally very welcoming to tourists. As with any large city, standard precautions apply in busy entertainment areas at night, and beach safety requires particular attention on Auckland's powerful west coast surf beaches.

Auckland is New Zealand's largest city and a vibrant metropolis set between two harbours, offering a unique blend of Pacific cultures, world-class dining, and easy access to stunning natural landscapes. Known as the 'City of Sails', it serves as New Zealand's main international gateway and commercial hub.

Current Advisory
