Marina Smir Hotel

Marina Smir Hotel is an upscale hotel on the RN16 at Marina Smir, near Restinga in the M'diq area of the Mediterranean coast of northern Morocco. Marina Smir is a purpose-built waterfront development with a yacht harbour, promenade, cafés and shops, and the hotel offers access to the marina, which is its main distinguishing feature. The town of M'diq, the Cabo Negro headland and the border crossing to Ceuta at Fnideq are within a short drive, Tetouan's medina is about half an hour away and Tangier is roughly an hour by road. The setting is resort-like and relaxed, with white buildings, boats and seafront walks, and it attracts Moroccan families and Spanish visitors in summer. Rooms are Standard Rooms and Suites with air conditioning and WiFi, and many overlook the harbour or the sea. The hotel has a restaurant serving Moroccan, Mediterranean and seafood dishes, and breakfast is generally included or available on site, while the marina promenade offers further restaurants and cafés within walking distance. An outdoor pool provides the main leisure facility, along with parking for guests who arrive by car, which is the most common way to reach the area. There is no large spa listed, so the focus is on sea air, boats and beaches nearby. The service style is relaxed and family-oriented, with staff able to help arrange excursions to Tetouan, Chefchaouen, Cabo Negro and Ceuta, and boat or water-sports activities from the marina. Rates of about 900 MAD in low season and 1,800 MAD in high season place the property in the upper-middle range of the coast. Summer is lively and crowded, whereas winter is quiet and some marina businesses reduce hours. Reservations are advisable in July and August.
