Huma Kotor Bay

Huma Kotor Bay hotel sits on the waterfront in Risan, a small town at the head of the innermost arm of Kotor Bay — the quieter, less-visited northern section of the fjord-like inlet that carves deep into the Montenegrin interior. Risan holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously inhabited settlement on the bay, with Roman-era floor mosaics depicting the god Hypnos visible at the town's archaeological site a few hundred metres from the hotel. The historic walled Old Town of Kotor, with its fortification walls and cathedral, is approximately 20 km by road around the bay's southern shore.

The hotel occupies a beachfront position with direct access to a private pebble beach, and a small marina provides moorings for guests arriving or departing by private boat. Rooms are finished in a contemporary coastal style with balconies or terraces overlooking the bay. The water here is notably calmer and clearer than on the open Adriatic coast, with the surrounding mountains creating shelter from prevailing winds and making the bay ideal for swimming across the summer season.
