Pipiripau Dive Bar

Pipiripau Dive Bar is a casual, no-frills bar at Calle 62 No. 458, between Calles 53 and 55, in central Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. As a dive bar it favours cheap drinks, live music and an unpretentious crowd over cocktail-bar polish, and it attracts a mix of local residents, students, expatriates and travelers. Dress is entirely casual, and the age range is mostly young adults through middle age. The music is a defining feature: live music is performed daily, and the patio hosts afternoon cumbia sessions, so visitors can come for a daytime drink as well as a night out. The drinks programme is built around beer and simple spirits.
