Café La Pasita

Café La Pasita has operated as a cantina in Puebla's Barrio de los Sapos since 1916, and is best known for its house-made La Pasita raisin liqueur, traditionally served in a small glass alongside a plate of cheese and dried fruit. Beyond the signature liqueur, the menu runs to simple botanas surtidas meant for sharing over drinks rather than a full sit-down meal. The interior is compact and covered floor-to-ceiling with decades of stickers, photographs, and memorabilia left by generations of visitors, giving the space a cluttered, bohemian, decidedly informal character; it can get loud and cramped during busy evening hours. There is no wine program to speak of — the point of a visit is the raisin liqueur itself, along with other house-infused spirits. The bar operates on a walk-in-only basis and does not take reservations, so evenings, particularly weekends, can mean a short wait for a table given the small footprint of the historic space.
