Parque Ecológico La Pastora

Parque Ecológico La Pastora is a 300-hectare municipal park in Guadalupe, sited at the base of Cerro de la Silla, developed as a green recreational space for the eastern Monterrey metro area. The park includes a small zoo with regional and exotic animal exhibits, an artificial lake used for pedal boats, cycling and walking paths that loop through open lawns and stands of trees, and shaded picnic areas that fill with local families on weekends. A visit covering the zoo, a walk around the lake, and time in the picnic areas typically takes an hour and a half to three hours. Mornings are the most comfortable time to visit, both for cooler temperatures for walking or cycling and because the zoo animals tend to be more active earlier in the day before the afternoon heat sets in. The park's setting directly beneath Cerro de la Silla gives clear views of the mountain from open areas near the lake, particularly striking in the soft early-morning light. Weekends, especially Sunday, are the busiest time, with large family groups picnicking and using the lake's pedal boats, while weekday mornings offer a much quieter visit better suited to walking or cycling the park's paths without crowds.
