Ubuyagasaki Lakeshore, Lake Kawaguchiko

Ubuyagasaki is a small point of land at the foot of the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge on the lake's southern shore, named for a local legend that the deity Konohanasakuyahime gave birth here, and it has become one of the most reliable year-round spots for a calm, reflected view of Mount Fuji across the water. Unlike the park-style shorelines at Oishi Park or the swimmable beaches of Yamanakako, Ubuyagasaki is a compact, undeveloped point rather than a facility-equipped lakeshore, with a narrow walking path and a few benches rather than restrooms or rental shops. When the lake surface is still, usually in the early morning or during calmer winter months, the point offers a near-mirror 'upside-down Fuji' reflection that draws photographers year-round, including a specific pre-dawn crowd on clear winter days. Because the site has no dedicated swimming access and the shoreline drops off more steeply here, wading is limited and swimming is not the point of a visit; it functions purely as a scenic and photography stop. Parking is limited to a small nearby area, so visitors arriving by bus or on foot from Kawaguchiko Station have an easier time in peak season.
