Adventure World, in Shirahama Town on Wakayama's Kii Peninsula coast, is a combined safari park, aquarium, and zoo best known internationally for its giant panda breeding program, alongside African savanna animals viewed from a safari bus and walking trail circuits. No fitness prerequisites or age limits apply; the park is designed for full-day family visits, with the safari bus ride and marine mammal shows accessible to visitors of all ages and mobility levels, though the grounds involve a fair amount of walking between zones. Admission covers entry to the safari area, aquarium, and animal shows; the safari bus ride is typically included, while some add-on experiences such as close animal encounters or premium seating for shows may carry an extra charge. Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and a camera are the main items visitors should bring, since much of the park is outdoors with limited shade in places. Adventure World has operated in Shirahama for decades and is one of only a handful of facilities in Japan to have successfully bred giant pandas, giving it a strong reputation for animal care standards.
