Osake no Oyado Kisen

Osake no Oyado Kisen is a riverside hot spring ryokan in Unazuki Onsen, Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, situated near the terminus of the Kurobe Gorge Railway's trolley train line at the mouth of the Kurobe Gorge. The property draws on the same mineral spring source that supplies the Unazuki hot spring district, offering both indoor bathing and open-air rotenburo pools positioned along the Kurobe River, where guests can hear the river below while soaking. As with most Unazuki ryokan, the wellness offering is centered on communal onsen bathing rather than a spa-style treatment menu: there are no individual massage or esthetic services, and no dedicated therapists on staff. The hot spring water is valued locally for its warming, muscle-relaxing qualities after a day spent hiking or riding the gorge trolley train. Overnight guests receive a regional kaiseki dinner and breakfast built around Toyama Bay seafood and mountain vegetables from the Kurobe foothills, served in-room or in a dining hall depending on room plan. Facilities include separate men's and women's indoor and outdoor bathing areas, a lobby lounge, and traditional tatami guest rooms; there is no fitness center, meditation room, or pool beyond the onsen baths themselves. Day-use bathing is available to outside visitors from 12:00 to 16:00 at a lower price for children under elementary-school age. Because of its location a short walk from the Kurobe Gorge Railway terminus, the ryokan is popular with day-trippers combining a gorge trolley ride with a soak, so day-use bathing can fill up on weekends and during the autumn foliage season; overnight bookings are generally made in advance through the property or a travel agent rather than as a walk-in.
