Kiya Ryokan

Kiya Ryokan sits in the heart of Misasa Onsen in Tohaku District, a hot spring village on the Mitoku River known for having some of the highest natural radon concentrations of any spring in the world. The ryokan occupies a registered tangible cultural property building whose wooden corridors and gardens reflect the traditional architecture the village has preserved for over a century. Guest rooms range from standard Japanese-style tatami rooms to a Japanese suite and rooms with a private bath, all finished in local timber and paper screens. Radium hot spring bathing rooms and a radon-mist inhalation sauna form the heart of the property's wellness offering, supplemented by a spring-water drinking corner where guests can sample the mineral water directly. Dining centers on a multi-course kaiseki meal served in-room or in a private dining area, built around seasonal Tottori seafood, Tottori Wagyu, and mountain vegetables from the Tohaku hills. There is no separate spa or pool beyond the radium bathing facilities, which are the property's signature.
