Nasu Safari Park offers a self-drive safari loop through big-cat and herbivore enclosures in Nasu, Tochigi, letting visitors tour the park from the safety of their own vehicle or a rented safari car along the "My Car" route. The activity requires no special fitness or driving skill beyond a valid driver's license, though guests must follow strict rules while inside carnivore zones, including keeping windows fully closed and not exiting the vehicle, since lions, tigers, and bears roam within sight of the road. Staff stationed along the route and at zone entrances monitor traffic and animal activity, and the safari loop is designed with a single-direction road so vehicles do not need to reverse or maneuver around each other in enclosures. For visitors without a car, a Safari Bus option covers the same route with a park driver and guide, and rental safari cars are available at the entrance for those without their own vehicle. The park operates year-round, making it accessible regardless of season, though a seasonal Night Safari typically runs in July and August for evening visits when nocturnal animal activity is higher.
