The vibe is more family park and sports-ground than seaside destination: wide grassy banks host cycling and jogging paths and sports fields, and the rugby stadium that hosted matches during the 2019 Rugby World Cup sits adjacent to the recreation area. Amenities are geared toward park use rather than beachgoing — there are no sun loungers, lifeguard stations, or food stalls at the water's edge outside festival dates, though the surrounding Kumagaya urban area is a short walk from the JR Takasaki Line station. Access is by JR Takasaki Line from Omiya to Kumagaya Station (about 35 minutes), followed by a 15-minute walk to the riverside park. The site is busiest by far during the August fireworks festival, when temporary food stalls and dense crowds line the grassy banks; outside that window, it functions as a quieter local green space for wading, cycling, and sports.
