The Gyokusen-do cave stretches roughly 5 kilometers underground, of which 890 meters are open to the public along a walkway that winds past hundreds of thousands of stalactite and stalagmite formations, some estimated to be over 200,000 years old. An underground stream flows through the deepest accessible section. Above ground, Okinawa World recreates a Ryukyuan Kingdom-era village with dye and glass workshops, a habu snake museum and venom show — the park holds the largest habu collection in Japan — and an awamori distillery offering tastings of the local rice spirit. Craft demonstrations include traditional Ryukyu glass blowing, bingata textile dyeing, and paper-making, and several workshops allow hands-on participation for an additional fee.
