Ibusuki Seaside Hotel

Ibusuki Seaside Hotel is a mid-range resort property on the Yunohama beachfront of Ibusuki City, in the southern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture. The hotel is positioned directly on the bay shore, placing guests within metres of the natural geothermal black sand that defines Ibusuki's reputation as one of Japan's most distinctive spa destinations. Sand bath (sunamushi) access is available through the nearby municipal Surigahama facility, which hotel staff can assist guests in booking and timing. An in-house onsen uses Ibusuki's sodium chloride hot spring water to provide indoor gender-separate bathing areas, and several private baths are available by reservation for family or couples' use. Room categories include Japanese tatami rooms with futon bedding, Western-style rooms with beds, and Twin rooms, each with views of the bay or the hotel's garden. The hotel restaurant serves breakfast and dinner with an emphasis on locally caught seafood, Satsuma Chicken, and produce from the southern Kagoshima region, and is open to both resident and non-resident guests. Room-only and half-board options are both available, though the half-board plan is popular given the limited independent dining options directly on the beachfront. Ibusuki Station is reachable by the JR Ibusuki-Makurazaki Line from Kagoshima-Chuo Station in approximately one hour, and the hotel is accessible by taxi from the station in about ten minutes. The surrounding Ibusuki coast offers cycling routes, boat excursions on Kinko Bay, and day trips to the Nagasakibana headland and the botanical garden at the cape.
