The Grand Hotel Continentale Florence occupies a 16th-century palazzo on the Lungarno Acciaiuoli, one of the Arno's most historically significant embankments, immediately adjacent to the Ponte Vecchio at the southern edge of the historic center. Managed by the Lungarno Collection — the hospitality brand of the Salvatore Ferragamo family — the hotel places guests within a few steps of Florence's most celebrated monuments, with direct Arno River and Ponte Vecchio views from its windows and terrace.

The palazzo was originally built for a noble Florentine family in the 16th century, later serving commercial functions before its hotel conversion. A comprehensive restoration by the Lungarno Collection preserved the original stone facade and structural character while installing contemporary interiors. The 43 rooms and suites are furnished in a refined modernist idiom with natural materials, clean lines, and artworks selected from the Ferragamo family's private collection. Upper-floor rooms and suites facing the Arno offer the most direct Ponte Vecchio sightlines; several have private balconies overlooking the river.

The rooftop terrace bar — Wow Terrace — is one of Florence's most sought-after outdoor dining and drinking spaces, with a 360-degree view encompassing the Ponte Vecchio directly below, the bend of the Arno, the Uffizi loggia, the Oltrarno hills, and the city's full roofscape from above. The terrace is also open to non-staying guests and attracts a broad Florentine clientele at sunset. A ground-floor restaurant serves breakfast and lunch with Arno River views. The hotel does not have a pool or dedicated spa.

The location is arguably the finest of any hotel in Florence for sightseeing on foot: the Uffizi Gallery is approximately 100 metres east, Ponte Vecchio 50 metres west, and the Oltrarno's Pitti Palace, Santo Spirito, and the Boboli Gardens accessible across the bridge in under 10 minutes. The Duomo is 800 metres north through the historic lanes.
