The Siena Cathedral is one of Italy's greatest Gothic masterpieces, built between 1215 and 1263 in striped black and white marble. The interior is equally stunning with an intricate marble floor featuring 56 panels of biblical scenes (covered most of the year), the Piccolomini Library with vibrant Pinturicchio frescoes, and a pulpit by Nicola Pisano.
