Florence's National Museum of the Bargello is housed in a medieval palace that was once the city's prison and is now one of the world's finest museums of Renaissance sculpture. Contains Donatello's bronze David (the first freestanding nude sculpture since antiquity), works by Verrocchio, Cellini, and Michelangelo's early works including Bacchus.
