One of Tuscany's most unique villages, Bagno Vignoni is built around a central Renaissance piazza that instead of the usual fountain contains a large rectangular thermal pool fed by natural hot springs at 52°C. Used since Roman times, the springs were favored by Saint Catherine of Siena and Lorenzo de' Medici. The free public baths at Parco dei Mulini are in the valley below.
