Baia Flaminia (Pesaro)

Baia Flaminia is the northernmost beach of Pesaro, the lively coastal city in the Pesaro and Urbino province of the northern Marche, set about two kilometres from the city centre at the point where the flat sandy shore meets the rising green headland of Monte San Bartolo. The beach is a relatively long, sandy strip of around 800 metres, calmer and less crowded than the central Pesaro seafront, and it has earned Blue Flag recognition for the quality of its bathing water and beach management. The sand is fine and the seabed shelves gently, keeping the water shallow and suitable for families, and the bay is organised into stabilimenti renting sunbeds and parasols, interspersed with free public sections, with restaurants, bars, lifeguard cover, and showers available in season. What sets Baia Flaminia apart is its setting at the foot of the Parco Naturale Regionale del Monte San Bartolo, a protected headland of wooded cliffs, hidden coves, and panoramic coastal road that rises immediately north of the beach. Walking and cycling routes climb from the bay into the park toward the village of Fiorenzuola di Focara and on toward Gabicce Mare, giving the beach a green hinterland unusual on this stretch of coast. Pesaro itself, the birthplace of the composer Gioachino Rossini and a designated Italian Capital of Culture, offers a handsome historic centre, the Rocca Costanza fortress, and a celebrated network of cycle paths that has earned it the nickname of the bicycle city. The combination of a quieter, family-friendly Blue Flag bay, direct access to the San Bartolo park trails, and a cultured city behind makes Baia Flaminia a relaxed and rewarding alternative to the busier central beaches.
