Antica Locanda Leonardo is a small, family-run hotel on Corso Magenta, one block from Santa Maria delle Grazie, the church housing Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper. The Cenacolo Vinciano entrance is a three-minute walk, and Cadorna station, with M1 and M2 metro lines plus the Malpensa Express rail link, is roughly ten minutes on foot. Conceptione metro station (M1, green line renamed over the years but commonly referenced as Conciliazione) sits closer still. The nineteenth-century building has been in the same family's care for decades, and the hotel retains a genuinely residential character rare among central Milan properties — high ceilings, parquet floors, antique furniture, and a small internal garden courtyard where breakfast is served in warm weather. The 16 rooms are modestly sized and simply furnished but scrupulously maintained, with Garden Rooms opening directly onto the courtyard offering the quietest and most characterful stay. There is no restaurant, bar, or fitness facility; breakfast is included and served either in a small ground-floor room or, seasonally, in the courtyard. The absence of amenities reflects the hotel's positioning as an affordable, atmospheric base rather than a full-service property — a reasonable trade-off given its proximity to one of the most in-demand ticketed attractions in Milan and its comparatively gentle rates for the neighbourhood. Reservations for the Last Supper must be made independently and well in advance, a detail the front desk reliably reminds first-time guests about.
