The Church of St Peter in Gallicantu sits on the eastern slope of Mount Zion, just outside the Old City walls of Jerusalem, Israel, overlooking the Kidron Valley. The name means St Peter at the cock-crow and recalls Peter's three denials of Jesus on the night of the arrest.

A Catholic church built on the supposed site of the high priest Caiaphas' house, with an excavated dungeon and a rooftop terrace over the Kidron Valley.

The Assumptionist Fathers built the present Catholic church in 1931 over the remains of earlier Byzantine and Crusader churches, and tradition places it on the site of the house of the high priest Caiaphas, where Jesus was held. The upper church has colourful mosaics and a gold dome, and a painting of Peter's denial. Below, the lower level reveals rock-cut chambers and cisterns that visitors can walk through, including a deep pit used as a dungeon where, according to tradition, Jesus may have been held overnight. Visitors can look down into the pit from above and read Psalm 88, which is inscribed there. Outside, the terrace commands wide views of the Kidron Valley, the City of David ridge and the Mount of Olives, and the site includes a section of a first-century stepped street that likely linked Mount Zion to the Temple area. A reproduction of a Roman-period courtyard and a small garden complete the grounds. The church is smaller than the main pilgrimage sites, so a visit takes 30 to 45 minutes. Late morning is a calm period, and tour groups often arrive earlier or later. The terrace is a favoured sunset viewpoint for photographers. The steps down to the lower rooms and across the hillside are steep, so good shoes help. The church is closed on Sundays and for a lunchtime break. Entry costs a few shekels as a donation, and modest dress is expected. It can be reached by a ten-minute walk down from Zion Gate.
