Agra Nightlife Guide 2026

The night-time map of Agra: where locals drink, where the music is, and what it costs.

The short answer: start with Amarvilas Bar, The Oberoi Amarvilas, Bobby's Bar, Hotel Clarks Shiraz and Bar, ITC Mughal. This guide profiles 5+ bars and nightlife spots in Agra, with prices, timing, and the practical notes that decide whether each one earns a place in your plan.

Agra is the Yamuna-river city in Uttar Pradesh that was the Mughal capital under Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan and is home to the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri, three UNESCO World Heritage Sites within about 40 km of each other.

Agra does not have a nightlife district. Its nightlife is modest: hotel bars on Fatehabad Road and Taj Road, a handful of rooftop cafes in Taj Ganj and, on some evenings, the Mohabbat The Taj show at Kalakriti. Most visitors spend the evening at a dinner reservation and an early return, since the Taj opens at sunrise and the city runs on an early clock.

Nightlife is built around dinner. Hotels hold the bars and the few DJ nights, rooftop cafes offer chai, lassi and views of the Taj Mahal, and the local crowd is largely family groups rather than clubbers. Alcohol is served in licensed hotel bars and restaurants; many budget cafes in Taj Ganj do not serve it. No dedicated nightclub could be verified in Agra, so travellers wanting a club night usually go to Delhi.

At a glance

Peak hours
Hotel bars are busiest 20:00-22:30; Taj Ganj rooftops peak at sunset (about 17:00-19:00 in winter). The city is quiet by 23:00.
Average drink
Beer in a hotel bar costs INR 350-650 (approx $4-7 USD); cocktails INR 700-2,200 (approx $8-25 USD); wine by the glass INR 600-1,500 (approx $7-17 USD). Taj Ganj rooftops charge INR 40-150 (approx $0.5-2 USD) for chai or lassi.
Dress code
Smart casual in hotel bars; shorts and sleeveless tops are fine at Taj Ganj rooftops, but modest clothing is advised elsewhere. Flip-flops are discouraged at Peshawri, Esphahan and hotel bars.
Cover charge
Agra's nightlife is limited compared with Delhi or Mumbai, and visitors should plan the evening around dinner and sunrise rather than a night out. Drinking-age and dry-day rules are enforced, so carry ID and check the date.

Nightlife tips

Stay safe and have fun.

Tip

The legal drinking age in Uttar Pradesh is generally given as 21; carry a passport copy, as hotel bars may check ID. Sources disagree, so confirm with the venue.

Tip

Alcohol is sold only by licensed bars, hotels and government-licensed shops; drinking in public places is an offence.

Tip

Dry days apply on days such as Gandhi Jayanti (2 October), Republic Day (26 January), Independence Day (15 August) and polling days; bars are closed or stop serving alcohol.

Tip

Most bars close between 23:00 and 01:00; hotel bars may keep slightly longer hours.

Tip

Taxis and autos thin out after 22:30 in Taj Ganj; arrange the ride back with the venue or book an app cab.

Tip

Women travelling alone should avoid walking unlit lanes in Taj Ganj late at night and use hotel-arranged cars.

Tip

Check the day: Friday the Taj is closed to the public, so Thursday evening is the usual late night before a Saturday sunrise visit.
