Water Kingdom Water Park at Gorai

Water Kingdom is a large water park on Gorai Island in Borivali West, Mumbai, reached by a 15-20 minute ferry across Gorai Creek from the Gorai jetty and standing alongside the EsselWorld amusement park's Bird Park attraction. It is one of the biggest water parks in the Mumbai region, with wave pools, a lazy river, body and tube slides of varying intensity, and a dedicated children's play area with shallow pools and smaller slides. No fitness or swimming ability is strictly required to enjoy the park, since shallow pools and gentle rides suit non-swimmers and young children, while the taller body slides and speed slides are aimed at confident swimmers and older kids and adults; lifeguards are stationed at the pools and major rides throughout the park. Swimwear is required on most rides, and the park does not permit regular clothing in the water areas. As an established commercial water park operating for decades alongside EsselWorld, Water Kingdom runs to standard safety protocols, with height and health restrictions posted at each ride, lifeguard supervision, and a first-aid station on site; visitors with heart conditions, recent surgery or pregnancy are generally advised against the higher-intensity slides. The park operates a full day from roughly 10:00 to 18:00, and a combined ticket with the adjoining EsselWorld Bird Park is available for visitors who want to see both. Because the park sits on an island reached only by ferry, journey time should be built into the visit, and the last return ferries run in the early evening. Water Kingdom is open year-round; the most comfortable months are October to May, when Mumbai's heat makes the pools especially welcome, while monsoon weekends from June to September are cooler and less crowded but can bring heavy rain that closes outdoor slides temporarily.
