The Archaia Nemea Winery Restaurant operates within a winery estate at Archaia Nemea in the Corinthia region of the northern Peloponnese, in one of the most celebrated wine-producing appellations in Greece. Nemea is the home of the Agiorgitiko grape — a deep, fruity red variety sometimes called 'the Blood of Hercules' in reference to the mythological battles fought near the ancient Nemea sanctuary — and the winery restaurant uses this legendary local wine as the organising principle of its food programme. The menu is short and seasonal, structured around pairings with the estate's own wines: a prosciutto-style cured meat with local olives and estate wine is the signature introduction platter, a combination designed to demonstrate how the Agiorgitiko's fruit-forward structure functions with salt-cured charcuterie. Braised lamb with rosemary and slow-roasted until falling from the bone is the main course that best expresses the full potential of an aged Nemea red. A local cheese board drawn from Peloponnese producers — including aged graviera and fresh myzithra — provides a bridge between the main course and the baklava finale, itself made with a Nemea wine reduction in the syrup. Winery tours of the estate are available by appointment Monday through Friday and cover the vineyard, the production cellar, and a guided tasting of the estate's range. The restaurant operates primarily at weekends for walk-in guests; weekday visits are by appointment only.
