Wine Roads of Nemea — Half-Day Winery Tour

The Wine Roads of Nemea Half-Day Winery Tour takes participants through the Nemea appellation of Corinthia in the northern Peloponnese — Greece's most celebrated red wine zone and the historic homeland of Agiorgitiko, the indigenous grape behind PDO Nemea wines. The 5-hour experience is operated as a guided circuit by the Nemea Wine Tourism Association, or completed self-guided using the official Wine Roads map available at nemea-wineroads.gr; both options share the same route departing from the Ancient Nemea car park.

Three wineries along the Wine Roads circuit form the itinerary. At each estate, a guided tasting presents 4–6 wines spanning the stylistic range of Agiorgitiko — from light rosé and medium-bodied dry red to the dense, age-worthy Nemea Grande Cuvée-style bottlings. One estate opens its working cellar and vineyard for a short walk between the vine rows, providing context on the region's clay-limestone soils and continental climate that moderate summer heat to produce the appellation's characteristic dark-fruit character. Light cheese and charcuterie pairings accompany tastings at each stop.

The price of €75 per person covers tastings at all three wineries, the cellar and vineyard tour at one estate, the cheese and charcuterie boards, and the Wine Roads map; excluded are meals, additional wine purchases, and transport beyond the self-guided route. Groups on the guided option run at 8–20 participants, with commentary in English. Visitors with mobility limitations should note that vineyard paths are unpaved; winery tasting rooms are accessible. The experience suits wine enthusiasts at any level — the guides contextualise the tasting for beginners and serious collectors alike.
