Nafplio Morning Food Walk is a 3-hour guided tour operated by Nafplio Food Tours (Katerina Papadimitriou), a locally founded company that has been running gastronomic walks through Nafplio's historic old town since 2018. The tour begins at Syntagma Square — the elegant Venetian heart of the city — and winds through neoclassical streets, the covered market, and traditional shops that have supplied the town since Ottoman times.
Participants make 8–10 stops at family-run bakeries, cheese shops, olive oil merchants, and wine cellars. The balance leans savoury: local Tirokafteri (spicy cheese spread), Kalamata olives, PDO Graviera cheese from Arcadia, and cured meats share the route with sweeter notes of Amygdalota almond pastries and Loukoumades honey doughnuts. A glass of regional wine from the Nemea or Tiryns appellation is poured partway through.
The price of €65 per person covers all tastings, the wine, and a take-home recipe card. Excluded are personal purchases made at individual shops, additional drinks, and gratuities. Groups are capped at 12 people, keeping the pace relaxed and allowing time for questions at each stop. Tours are conducted in English; Greek-language groups can be arranged on request. Dietary substitutions are accommodated when flagged at booking — vegetarian participants miss no stops, and gluten-free alternatives are signalled at each point. The walk covers flat cobblestone streets through the Peloponnese's most photogenic harbour town.
