The Met Hotel

The Met Hotel is a five-star design hotel at 26is Oktovriou 48 in the new harbour area of Thessaloniki, in the Central Macedonia region of northern Greece. It is a member of Design Hotels and is known for the contemporary art collection displayed through its public spaces. The location, on the western side of the port, is calmer than the central streets and sits away from the main tourist routes, but a free hotel shuttle links the property with Aristotelous Square, which solves the distance to the historic centre. The railway station is also fairly close, and taxis reach the airport and the waterfront promenade without difficulty. The hotel has 212 rooms, offered in Superior, Superior Plus Twin and Double, Superior Port View, Ada Superior Plus (a family room), Deluxe and Executive categories, plus Business, Executive and The Met Suite options. The main leisure feature is a 22-metre rooftop pool on the seventh floor, next to the Sky Bar, which offers 360-degree views over the city and the gulf and is one of the better-known drinking spots in Thessaloniki. Chan restaurant serves Pan-Asian and modern Greek cooking, and The Long Bar is a second drinking venue. A wellness and spa centre rounds out the facilities, and underground parking is available, which is useful in a city where street parking is hard to find. Pets are allowed, and conference facilities support business and event bookings. The service character is business-oriented but stylish, with a design-led atmosphere that appeals to couples, art-minded travellers and corporate guests alike.
