Wald-Abenteuer Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler is a family-friendly high-ropes park in the forest above the Ahr Valley wine town of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, in the Ahrweiler district of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The park is built around tiered courses graded for children and adults, culminating in one of the region's longest zipline runs, which carries climbers back down to the base camp at the end of the circuit. No prior climbing experience is required, since a ground-level safety briefing and supervised practice element precede every session, and continuous-belay safety systems keep participants clipped to a line throughout the higher courses; a minimum height applies to the tallest circuits, with lower courses designed specifically for younger children. Harnesses and helmets are supplied on site; visitors should wear closed sturdy shoes and comfortable outdoor clothing that covers the legs, since branches and safety lines can otherwise scrape bare skin. Trained staff run the safety briefing, fit and check every harness before entry, and supervise the courses from ground stations, able to guide a climber through a controlled retreat or descent if needed partway through a section. The long finishing zipline is a highlight for many visitors and is generally accessible to anyone who has completed the earlier, easier courses in the circuit. Sessions run for about two and a half to three hours, and the park operates from April through October; sessions are suspended during thunderstorms, high winds or heavy rain, when the elevated platforms and ropes become unsafe.
