Strandbad Wandlitzsee, Naturpark Barnim

Strandbad Wandlitzsee sits on the shore of the Wandlitzsee in the Naturpark Barnim, a forested nature park stretching north from the edge of Berlin. The lido is a sandy municipal beach with a gently sloping entry, well suited to families and casual swimmers, and water temperatures reach a typical 18-23°C in summer. What distinguishes Wandlitz from many other Brandenburg lake beaches is its direct S-Bahn connection: the S2 line runs from central Berlin straight to Wandlitzsee station, a ten-minute walk from the lido, making it one of the most convenient lake beaches for visitors without a car and without needing to change to a regional bus. The atmosphere is relaxed and mixed, drawing both Berlin day-trippers taking advantage of the easy rail link and local Barnim residents. Facilities include changing rooms, showers, a kiosk, and a playground, giving it a rounded family-friendly setup. Admission is charged at one of the lower rates among the region's Strandbäder. The surrounding Naturpark Barnim has extensive marked forest and lake trails accessible directly from the lido area, making it easy to combine a swim with an afternoon walk through mixed pine and beech woodland.
