Fouquet's Cannes

Fouquet's Cannes is the Riviera outpost of the Parisian brasserie, located in the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic at 10 Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. The name carries the reputation of the Paris original on the Champs-Élysées, and the Cannes branch brings the same polished brasserie style to the seafront, with a terrace on the Croisette. The menu is French brasserie cooking at a luxury price point. A seafood platter is the signature order, steak tartare is a classic of the house style, and a range of other brasserie classics, such as grilled fish, meat dishes and traditional desserts, completes the offering. Prices are in the highest bracket, reflecting the hotel setting and the Croisette address, and a meal with wine is a significant spend, although a lighter order at the terrace is possible. The dining room and terrace are glamorous and busy, with attentive uniformed service, a fairly lively noise level at peak times, and a clientele that includes festival guests and conference delegates staying at the neighbouring hotels. Dress is smart, and evenings tend towards elegant resort wear. The drinks list covers champagne, Provençal rosé and white wines, French regional wines and cocktails, and the terrace is a popular place for an aperitif. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended, especially in the evening, and tables on the terrace are most in demand during the Cannes Film Festival in May, the summer season and the MIPIM and MIPCOM trade weeks, when booking well in advance is advisable. The location next to the Palais des Festivals makes it a convenient place to eat for visitors attending events.
