Space-themed park with a full-scale Ariane 5 rocket, Mir station and a planetarium.
The Cité de l'espace opened in 1997 and is dedicated to space exploration, a link to the many aerospace firms in Toulouse. The park includes a full-scale model of the Ariane 5 launcher, a full-scale Mir station mock-up, the Soyuz capsule and a planetarium with 3D films. Interactive exhibits and a simulator let visitors learn about orbit and astronauts' training, and an outdoor area has a Space Park. The park is aimed at families but science fans of all ages will find enough to fill a long visit. Pricing is for the whole site, with some films included.
