Le Canet, Lagrasse

Le Canet is a charming small restaurant in the medieval village of Lagrasse, one of the most beautiful villages in France (classified among Les Plus Beaux Villages de France) and a hidden gem in the Corbières hills of the Aude, Occitanie. Lagrasse is built around an 8th-century Benedictine abbey — still inhabited by monks — and sits in a valley surrounded by the wild garrigue and limestone hills that produce some of the most characterful Corbières wines. The restaurant is a village-square institution, occupying a terrace on Place de la République that looks out over the medieval fountain and the stone houses of the old quarter.
