L'Univers, Carcassonne

L'Univers occupies one of the most coveted positions on Place Carnot in Carcassonne's Ville Basse — the animated lower town that sits in the shadow of the Cité, the legendary medieval fortified hill-city that dominates the skyline to the east. The bar's large terrace is the social heart of the square on warm evenings, and the terraces of Carcassonne fill early: the culture of the Aude, like much of Occitanie, places the outdoor apéro at the centre of its social calendar.
