Le Touquet-Paris-Plage Beach is the best-known seaside stretch of the Côte d'Opale in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. The beach is fine, pale golden sand running for roughly five kilometres along the Promenade du Touquet, backed by the resort's seafront villas, a pine-wooded hinterland and the mouth of the Canche estuary to the south. The North Sea water here is cool and often a milky green-grey rather than turquoise, with clarity varying with wind and tide.

The tidal range is large, so at low tide the sand flats extend a long way out and the waterline can be several hundred metres from the promenade, while at high tide the usable beach narrows considerably.

The beach is open and flat, exposed to westerly winds, which makes it a leading area for sand yachting, kite flying and land sailing as well as walking and horse riding at low tide. The atmosphere is upscale family seaside: wide sand for children, a sailing school and water sports hire, and a chic resort town of boutiques and restaurants directly behind the sea wall. Amenities include seasonal lifeguard posts in summer, public toilets, beach clubs with loungers and parasols, restaurants and snack kiosks along the front, and paying parking in the town.

Access is simple. TER trains serve Étaples-Le Touquet station, about 1h30 from Lille and around 2h30 from Paris, from where a taxi or local bus covers the remaining distance to the seafront. By car the resort is signposted from the A16 motorway, and parking fills up quickly on summer weekends and during school holidays. A promenade runs along the whole beach, giving easy flat access to different stretches, and quieter sand lies north and south of the central bathing zone. The pine forest behind the town offers cycling and walking routes for days when the wind is too strong for the sand.

Visitors should check tide tables before planning a swim, since bathing is safest around high tide within the lifeguarded zone and the sea retreats far at low water. Sunsets over the sea from the promenade are popular, and the beach is busiest at weekends from June to September.
