Plage du Centre is the central town beach of Boulogne-sur-Mer, a port city on the Côte d'Opale in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. The beach is a flat, sandy stretch of about two kilometres below the seafront promenade, with Nausicaá, the large national sea centre, close to its edge. The sand is fine and pale, and the North Sea water is cool and typically grey-green, with clarity varying with weather and tide.

The tidal range is large, so the sand widens greatly at low tide and the bathing zone is narrow near high water.

The beach is open and moderately exposed, facing the Channel, and conditions are generally gentler than at the windier beaches further north. The atmosphere is that of a working city beach: local families, visitors to Nausicaá and the old town, walkers and joggers on the promenade, rather than a party or surf scene. Its main appeal is convenience, as it sits within a short walk of the harbour, the walled upper town and the shops and restaurants of Boulogne, allowing a beach break to be combined with a city visit.

Amenities include seasonal lifeguard posts in summer, restaurants and cafés nearby, a flat promenade and paying parking in the surrounding streets. Access is easy without a car: the beach is about a 15-minute walk from Boulogne-Ville train station, with TER services from Lille taking around 1h30. By car, Boulogne is reached via the A16 motorway, and parking is easier on weekdays than at weekends in July and August.

Visitors should check tide tables before swimming and stay within the lifeguarded zone, since currents can be strong near the harbour jetties. Evening walks along the promenade give views of the harbour entrance and the ferries and fishing boats using the port. Layers are advisable at any time of year because the sea breeze can feel cool even on sunny days.
