Brittany (Breizh) is France's westernmost peninsula — a Celtic heartland thrust into the Atlantic where granite cliffs, prehistoric megaliths, medieval walled cities, and 2,800 kilometres of coastline combine into one of Europe's most distinctive travel destinations.

Brittany's nightlife is concentrated in three cities: Rennes (the regional capital and a major university city with a 60,000-strong student population), Brest (a port city with a strong live music and club scene clustered around the Port de Commerce), and Vannes (the Morbihan capital, with a more intimate bar and cabaret culture in the medieval old town). Outside these cities, coastal towns offer seasonal bars and occasional summer concerts but limited club activity. Rennes dominates Breton nightlife — the December festival Les Transmusicales de Rennes is one of Europe's most important music discovery events, drawing 50,000+ visitors to the city each year. Rennes also has the region's most active rock and electronic venue circuit, anchored by L'Ubu (450 seats) and the clubs on and around Place du Colombier. Brest's scene is more industrial in character, with La Carène (1,300 seats) and La Suite club on the Port de Commerce waterfront. Coastal seasonal nightlife is liveliest in Saint-Malo (summer terrace bars and events in the walled city) and Quiberon (beach-bar concerts in July–August).
