The Beaujolais Wine Domain Visit & Tasting is a half-day excursion from Lyon into the Beaujolais wine country north of the city, centred on the town of Belleville-sur-Saône and the rolling hillside vineyards of the Beaujolais Cru appellations in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The tour is operated by licensed wine tour companies departing from Lyon Part-Dieu station and typically includes a return train journey and a guided visit to one or two domain estates.

Beaujolais encompasses twelve appellations, of which ten are designated Beaujolais Crus — the highest tier — each producing wines of distinct character from the Gamay grape on granitic and volcanic soils. The tour concentrates on the Cru villages: Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie, and Chiroubles are the appellations most commonly visited. At the estate, the winemaker or cellar master leads the group through the vine rows and barrel cellar, explaining the relationship between the terroir, the Saône valley climate, and the domain's winemaking philosophy.

The guided tasting that follows typically includes four to six Beaujolais Cru wines — spanning reds and occasionally a rare Beaujolais Blanc from Chardonnay — presented in order of weight and structure. A paired charcuterie and cheese platter provides context for how the wines perform at the table. The guide explains the difference between Beaujolais Nouveau (the early-release style, launched each November) and the aged Cru wines that can develop for five to fifteen years.
